As the Manager of Infrastructure (Technology Manager, Infrastructure), you will lead a talented team responsible for the physical infrastructure and virtualization platform used to host our payment processing services.

 

This is a hands-on technical people manager role located in Victoria, BC, Canada. Since we make use of a broad range of technologies to build and operate services, the ideal candidate will have senior-level experience in an infrastructure management role and some experience leading a team.

 

Bambora’s services are operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In order to ensure SLAs are maintained, the Infrastructure team participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation, and you may be required to get involved.

 

What you will do:
 

  • Mentor, coach, motivate, and manage the performance of a team of technology professionals.
  • Recruit and retain talent for your team and sometimes other teams within Bambora.
  • Develop and manage your team’s roadmap and projects in alignment with the broader technology strategy.
  • Prioritize your team’s work according to business needs.
  • Develop and be accountable for your budget.
  • Manage an on-call rotation.
     

Who you are:
 

  • You have a post-secondary degree, diploma, certifications in an information technology-related discipline, or equivalent job experience.
  • You are fluent in English (written and oral).
  • You are motivated and passionate about what you do.
  • You have experience leading a team of individuals.
  • You enjoy coaching, mentoring and being there for your team.
     

You have experience with:
 

  • Enterprise grade hardware for compute, network, and storage.
  • Virtualization using VMware.
  • Network design and implementation.
  • Monitoring and alerting.
  • Incident management.

 

It would be great if you had: 

 

  • Experience with infrastructure as code, using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Git.
  • A strong grasp of Agile and DevOps principles and practices.
  • Experience with administration and automation of Windows and/or Linux-based servers.
  • Experience with payments, regulated environments, and audits (PCI, SOC).
