About the Role

As part of the Certification team, the Hardware Product Certification Specialist serves as the subject matter expert for products and certification tools within their scope.

The role is responsible for ensuring product compliance with applicable hardware regulations, standards, and certification requirements across targeted markets. The specialist also defines, manages, and monitors the certification roadmap while coordinating certification activities with external laboratories, internal technicians, and R&D teams.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Monitoring

  • Monitor changes in regulations, standards, and certification requirements (Safety, EMC, Radio, Accessibility, Cybersecurity, etc.).
  • Collaborate with certification bodies, laboratories, and technical experts.
  • Assess the impact of regulatory changes on existing and future products.

Product Compliance Management

  • Ensure product compliance throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Support project teams in integrating certification requirements early in the development phase.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and obtain the required certifications in line with project objectives and market requirements.

Certification Management

  • Define and maintain the certification roadmap.
  • Track certification activities and project progress.
  • Coordinate stakeholders including project teams, laboratories, certification bodies, and technical experts.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to certification approvals.
  • Maintain certification records and documentation within internal databases.

Deliverables

  • Regulatory monitoring reports and communication updates.
  • Impact assessments of new regulations and standards.
  • Certification roadmap and certification strategies.
  • Certification deliverables planning and tracking.
  • Certification status reports and dashboards.
  • Integration of certification milestones into project schedules.
  • Certification documentation management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Certification progress rate.
  • On-time certification delivery.
  • First-pass certification success rate.
  • Certification commitments achieved versus planned.
  • Number of compliance issues identified and resolved.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Solid understanding of certification processes (Safety, EMC, Radio, Telecom, Accessibility, Cybersecurity, etc.).
  • Knowledge of major product certifications such as: CE, FCC, UL, CSA, PTCRB, RED, IC, Accessibility standards, Cybersecurity certifications...
  • General knowledge of electronics and hardware products.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to electronic and connected devices.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to represent the company with external certification bodies and partners.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product certification, regulatory compliance, or a related area.
  • Previous project management experience is a plus.

IT Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
  • Familiarity with project management and activity tracking tools.

Languages

  • Fluent French and English
