ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

 

The Pre-Sales Retail Solution Engineer is a key technical resource responsible for supporting pre-sales activities and product integration efforts for Ingenico’s retail clients. Working closely with Account Executives and Account Managers, this role helps bridge the gap between customer needs and Ingenico’s product offerings by gathering technical, functional, and business requirements. The engineer plays a vital role in customer-facing engagements, including presentations, product demonstrations, and technical discussions, often operating independently from the broader sales team.

 

A major focus of the role involves leading field support for customer integrations. This includes collaborating directly with clients and partners to guide technical deployments of Ingenico’s payment solutions. Responsibilities range from gathering and analyzing integration requirements to providing training and hands-on development support. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with POS register systems and integration kits and is comfortable managing complex solution development projects. Experience developing technical solutions and working in large, sophisticated customer environments is highly valued.

 

As a Solution Engineer the candidate is expected to demonstrate strong technical acumen, deep knowledge of Ingenico’s products, and the ability to work autonomously on complex implementations. In addition to delivering solutions, the engineer serves as a subject matter expert, capable of mentoring peers and contributing to the overall growth of the technical sales team. This role is best suited for a proactive, customer-focused professional who thrives in fast-paced, technically demanding environments.

 

 WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

·         Implementation and Support of Ingenico Hardware & Software Payment Solutions.

·         Work with 3rd party financial solution providers to resolve technical integration issues

·         Provide product training to customers and partners.

·         Analyze customer requirements and recommend the best practices & solutions.

·         Provide sales support with account executives in the form of presentations, whiteboard sessions and technical demonstrations of the product.

·         Support existing client base in problem determination, resolution and product upgrade

·         Participate in sales meetings and industry related events.

·         Recommend product enhancements and provide customer feedback to product management.

·         Aid in testing and piloting new hardware and software.

·         Work with QA & software engineering on problem recreation and resolution.

·         Technical expertise on Ingenico’s multi-lane set of products and integration kits.

·         Collaborate with sales, product, software development and QA in order to accelerate product integration.

·         Provide input to Technical Services and Software Development to accelerate the evolution of the Ingenico multilane integration kits.

 

ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

 

·         Proficient in secure payment solutions primarily in retail environments.

·         Proficient in troubleshooting and problem resolution.

·         Technical position involving driver solutions, PC installations and understanding of POS work flows at a very detailed level.

·         Project management, time management and task prioritization skills.

·         Analytical capabilities and leadership skills including experience managing customer expectations.

·         Written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal management.

·         Fluent in English and Spanish.

·         Ability to establish solid business relationships and work effectively in a team environment.

·         Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.

·         Work closely with the development team to help create, manage, and support new Android solutions including, but not limited to: value added solutions/applications.

·       Bachelor’s or master’s degree, in Computer Science, IT Engineering or Information Systems.

·         At least 2 to 3 years of Kotlin or Java development experience.

·         Significant experience with consumer-facing mobile development automation tools and frameworks.

 

NICE TO HAVE

·         Understanding various encryption standards and concepts in the secure payment industry including Master/Session, DUKPT, DES and Triple DES.

·         Experience with EMV certification and integration.

·         Understanding security requirements within the payment industry such as PABP, PCI-PED and PCI-DSS.

·         Hardware experience with POS peripherals, PCs, Servers and common POS retail workstations and back-office solutions.

·         Understanding of wireless protocols and concepts.

·         Understanding of various payment device interfaces and implementations such as OPOS, JPOS and IBM EFT.

·         Experience with graphics generation and manipulation tools.

·         Experience with Java development environment is preferred.
