ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
The Technical Project Manager purpose of this role is to lead, manage and coordinate various activities of cross-functional project teams on critical/high-complexity projects.
This requires close liaison with the relevant project sponsors/customers and resource managers to ensure that projects are delivered on time, to the right quality, and within budget in line with business priority.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Project Management
- Driving individual or groups of projects to completion in line with the relative business priorities.
- Work closely with all project stakeholders but specifically with key project team members to ensure that the correct project structure/environment is created to support the scope of work.
- Work closely with customers and liaise/manage third-party contractors and suppliers as required to meet project delivery requirements.
- Manage, monitor, and motivate the cross-functional team assigned to the project
- Create, execute and update project plans based on the input from the project teamwork packages.
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Conduct project presentations and compile reports.
- Manage and escalate where necessary all project risks/issues/dependencies and incidents through to resolution.
- Facilitate communication through various mediums and frequencies in line with agreed project governance.
- Manage project risk plan.
- Generate and distribute project closure reports upon project completion.
- Track and monitor project costs against the original budget.
- Track and monitor project actual revenue against original estimates.
Functional Activities
- Continuous improvement of specific project management processes and procedures in line with business change/demands.
- Deliver functional activities as outlined in appraisal objectives.
- Act as project over-site for special requests from executive management.
- Provide project over-site for projects run outside the PMO.
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills across all stakeholders.
- Self-supporting and self-motivating with a high degree of initiative requiring minimal management.
- Proficient in project management principles, methods, techniques, and tools for the effective management of projects from cradle to grave.
- Proficient in progress reporting against the plan on a one-to-one and to many bases and at all levels across the business.
- Proficient in risk & change management methods and techniques for the assessment and management of risk/issues/changes.
- Proficient in the use of planning tools and techniques associated with the planning and monitoring of the progress of projects.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, strong preference to technology.
- Knowledge of Prince2 principles (Prince2 Foundation certification preferred).
- Knowledge of the PMI Project Management methodology (PMP certification preferred).
- Basic knowledge of Managing Successful Projects & Programs.
- Working knowledge of the EPOS and IT industries is preferable but not essential.
- Comprehend complex, technical subjects.
- Translate technical language to lay audiences.
- Link and apply complex technologies to business strategies.
- Advanced Spanish (fluent spoken and written) English (spoken and written) proficiency.
- Budgetary control for assigned projects.
