Position Title: Head of R&D, Pacific

Reports to: Head of R&D, APAC

Direct Reports:

  • QA Manager

  • Head of Software Development, Pacific

  • Software Architect

  • Software Security

  • Android Consultant

Key Clients & Stakeholders:

  • Software Team (including Development, QA, and Technical Writing)

  • Sales Team

  • Customer Service Team

  • Pacific Leadership Team

  • R&D APAC and Ingenico Group

  • Customers across Australia and the Pacific


Purpose:

  • Act as the R&D Leader of the Pacific region.

  • Lead the Software Team to deliver high-quality and timely software solutions to clients across the Pacific.


Areas of Responsibility:

  • Drive transformation within the R&D function in the Pacific and foster strong relationships with APAC and Group colleagues.

  • Establish an outcome-driven, product-centric culture in software development.

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all software creation activities across various functions and products.

  • Collaborate with the executive team and managers to evolve software architecture, prioritize projects, allocate resources, and communicate project roadmaps and plans.

  • Continuously refine development strategies and processes to align with company strategy and customer business objectives.

  • Work closely with customers to promote Ingenico Software and maintain ongoing revenue streams.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes for better quality and efficiency.

  • Drive test automation using software and robotics.

  • Partner with Sales and Professional Services to enhance Net Promoter Scores (NPS).

  • Manage software revenue and budgets.

  • Provide strong leadership and maintain high team engagement.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in leading software development teams

  • Leading agile transformation initiatives

  • Experience in software development for hardware, including embedded software, APIs, and cloud-based solutions

  • Experience in the Payments or Tech industry is desirable but not mandatory

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related field


Compliance:

  • Successfully pass a Police Check and other relevant background checks
