Agile Practice Lead

  • Are you an agile evangelist?! This could be the perfect role for you!
  • Vibrant team and company culture
  • Great benefits, with an award-winning brand

Paymark is New Zealand’s leading electronic payments company and Kiwis rely on us to ensure that electronic purchasing is available wherever purchases for goods and services need to be made. In our history to date, we have put through 22 billion transactions, worth an estimated $1 trillion, and worked with over 120,000 merchants.

Over the past few years we’ve been developing our Digital platform with the best Quality Assurance (QA), Engineering, Architecture, Security, Operational and Agile practices and culture. Our customers rely on us to handle payments through systems that don’t skip a beat and we’re proud of our ability to deliver quality products, releasing multiple times a day across our portfolio of products. But we’re not sitting still, we are pushing forwards to release faster whilst maintaining our stability and this is where we need you.

As the Agile Practice Lead, you’ll play a key role within the Technology Delivery Team and wider organisation. In this role, you’ll focus on leading the agile practises and team at Paymark as well as being an active scrum master within product development across Paymark. This is both a hands-on scrum master role as well as a practice lead role.

We’re looking for you to be a standout and experienced agile lead with solid experience working with agile scrum practices. You will need to have strong communication skills, and be able to thrive working in a team environment. You will also be able to create innovative solutions by thinking "outside the box". We’re looking for someone who thrives in working with others to help find ways to improve our overall delivery but also had skin in the game, working hands on with teams.

This role includes people management responsibilities with the opportunity to grow into the management space – helping to manage the larger business unit and be a potential second in charge for Digital Technology.

You’ll also have:

  • A solid understanding and at least 5+ years of experience with agile software development process and practices, specifically the Scrum framework, including setting up an agile practice.
  • Knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Strong team, inter-personal and communication skills. Desire to work closely with a variety of players who have differing viewpoints, priorities and technical understanding.

What’s it like to work here?!

Well we don’t take ourselves too seriously here, we look after our people with fresh fruit, flu jabs, birthday leave, a comprehensive wellbeing program and subsidised massage (I know right!).  We’ve got exceptional people working here and you’ll be joining a really credible and talented team, who are united by keeping the customer at the heart of everything they do.
